The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills has recently reported plans to begin educating children as young as 11 about careers in cyber security to help prevent the future skills deficit.
It has been widely speculated that the UK could suffer a major global disadvantage with regards to resources in this sector unless more people move into a profession in this area.
The plans include offering new learning materials to UK schools to publicise jobs in the sector and training teachers to upskill pupils around the growth of the sector.
The areas which will require future support in cyber security include Police and intelligence agencies, public services and private enterprises, with security-savvy personnel trained to combat cybercrime and thwart internet attacks.
Last month the National Audit Office said a lack of skilled workers was hampering the UK's fight against cyber-crime.
