How does it work?
Cyber Essentials Certification Scheme is a UK government-backed and industry-recognised award run by the National Cyber Security Centre Centre (NCSC). The scheme was developed in response to the rapid increase in cyber security threats businesses face and as a way to offer protection against the 80% of IT security breaches.
For all government supply chains and commercial tenders, the Cyber Essentials Certification is a mandatory requirement and is awarded to organisations that are able to demonstrate, through the completion of an online self-assessment questionnaire, that they have effective cyber security measures in place.

Why Get Certified?

When tendering for government project, Cyber Essentials is imperative and some local authorities and MoD projects are now asking for Cyber Essentials Plus as a minimum. Since the scheme was created, more organisations are requiring suppliers (especially SMEs) to have the Cyber Essentials Certification in place if they wish to tender for the project.
